The legendary Wolpertinger is a German myth, It is a rabbit with wings and antlers. Similar to the legend of the Jackalope, which came about when people mistakenly saw cottontail rabbits with a virus called Cottontail Rabbit Papilloma Virus (CRVP) that produces wart like horns on the rabbits body. The virus has also been found in humans its called Human Papilloma Virus (HPV).
